Tucci stymies Nepean, Hawkesbury wins 4-1

 

A stellar performance between the pipes by Andrew Tucci helped the Hawkesbury Hawks defeat the Nepean Raiders, 4-1.

 

Hawkesbury was led by Jacob Drobczyk, who registered one goal. Drobczyk scored 10:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury. Ryan Jackson picked up the assist.

Nepean was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hawkesbury eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Hawkesbury also got points from Damien Charette, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Bruno Cheff, who also had one goal and one assist, and Chris Smith, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Charles Levesque, Johnathan Kovacevic, Brandon Barillaro, and Joe Smith, who contributed one each.

The Raiders managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Nepean ended up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Raiders were led by Samuel Meisenheimer, who scored the team's only goal. Meisenheimer scored 12:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Justin Hess assisted on the tally.

Tucci recorded 25 saves for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Francis Marotte made 30 saves for Nepean on 34 shots. The Raiders registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
