RAIDERS JOSH ZIZEK COMMITS TO OSWEGO STATE FOR 2016-17

The Central Canada Hockey League & Nepean Raiders are proud to announce that Josh Zizek has verbally committed to attend Oswego State University for the 2016-17 school year.

The St. Catherines, ON native is in his third CCHL season as a member of the Raiders where he is team captain and leads the club in assists (35) and points (43) in 59 games.  To his credit the 20-year old has amassed 39 goals and 119 points in 179 career games.

Listed at 5-8, 170 lbs, Zizek is known as a smart hard working forward who plays a strong positional game and isn't afraid to go to the net.  His strengths are his skating and his footwork, he has the offensive upside to reach another level in his development but will need to get stronger to make an impact at the next level.

"In my short time coaching Josh there was no doubt in my mind that he would be rewarded and move on to play college hockey", said Nepean Raiders Head Coach Darcy Findlay.  "When the chips were down and he had the option to move to a contending team for playoffs, Josh chose to stick by his team and finish his career as a Raider, showing his commitment as well as strong character".  "There is no better fit for Josh as Oswego State has a rich history of winning championships and you can't accomplish this unless you have people like Josh," added Findlay.
