Pearson lifts Ottawa over Brockville, 7-3

 

The Ottawa Senators relied on the scoring touch of Jim Pearson, who netted two goals, to beat the Brockville Braves, 7-3.

Pearson scored at 16:27 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Ottawa and again while 1:34 into the second to make the score 4-2 Ottawa.

 

Ottawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Senators surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Ottawa averages 3.5 goals per game.

Ottawa also got points from Alexandre Way, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jody Sullivan, who also had two goals and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Daniel Sarracco and Louis-Charles Croteau, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Mitchell Gibson, who had three, Cameron White, Isaac Anderson, and Luke McCaw, who contributed one each, and Greg Meireles and Jaren Burke, who each chipped in two.

Brockville was led by Liam Folkes, who tallied two goals. Folkes scored the first of his two goals at 10:01 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Stuart Fierheller picked up the assist. Folkes' next tally made the score 5-3 Ottawa with 19:08 left in the third period. Michael Murray also scored for Brockville. More assists for Brockville came via Tre Folkes, who had one.

Ian Andriano made 27 saves for the Senators on 30 shots. Ottawa incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Henry Johnson rejected 19 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
