Ottawa downs Kanata, 6-2

 

Kyle Hillick registered one point to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 6-2 victory over the Kanata Lasers.

 

Ottawa stifled Kanata's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Senators forced the Lasers goalie Alex Butler to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Ottawa also got points from William Cullen, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Daniel Sarracco, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jaren Burke, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jim Pearson, who also had one goal and one assist. Samuel Meisenheimer also scored for Ottawa. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Sean Rappleyea, Isaac Anderson, Brett Van Stralen, Johnathan Kovacevic, Mitchell Gibson, and Elie Boulerice, who contributed one each.

Kanata was helped by Louis-Charles Croteau, who registered one goal and one assist. Croteau scored 6:40 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Ottawa. David Pearce picked up the assist. Kanata also got a goal from Preston Kugler as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Jacob Moreau, who had two.

Ottawa's starting goalie, Marcus Paulino, made 13 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Ian Andriano, who stopped zero shots. The Senators incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Butler recorded 25 saves for the Lasers. Kanata incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
