LUMBER KINGS O’NEILL TO JOIN LAKE FOREST COLLEGE FOR 2016-17

The Central Canada Hockey League & Pembroke Lumber Kings are pleased to announce that ’96 born forward Tyler O’Neill has committed to join NCAA III Lake Forest College in Illinois for the 2016-17 school year.

O’Neill, a native of Kanata, ON finished 3rd on Lumber Kings scoring this past season with 12 goals and 35 points.  In 170 combined regular season and playoff games between the Gloucester Rangers, Kanata Lasers, and Lumber Kings, O’Neill registered 23 goals and 72 points.

The 5-10, 185 lb forward plays a strong defensive game but can also be used during offensive opportunities as his 16 power-play points placed him 2nd with the Lumber Kings behind only leading scorer Alex Gilmour.

“Tyler is an exceptional young man who came to the rink every day with a positive attitude and was a pleasure to coach”, said Pembroke Head Coach Sean Crozier.  “We have no doubt he will succeed at Lake Forest and wish him the best in his next chapter as well as thank him for his contributions both on and off the ice in Pembroke”.

Lake Forest plays out of the NCAA III Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Conference.  The Foresters had an overall record of 10-15 this past season, placing 8th in their conference with an 8-12 record.
