Lascelle stymies Brockville, Cornwall wins 2-1

 

The Cornwall Colts relied on the sparkling performance of Liam Lascelle in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Brockville Braves.

 

Cornwall was led by Tristan Conrad, who grabbed one goal. Conrad scored on the power play 2:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. A hooking penalty on Christopher Mammas had put the Colts on the power play. Sebastian Dirven picked up the assist.

Cornwall stifled Brockville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Colts forced the Braves goalie Henry Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Cornwall also got a goal from Keegan Mulhearn as well. More assists for Cornwall came via Matthew Morin and Jeremy McFarlane, who each chipped in one.

Brockville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Braves average 3.2 goals per game.

Brockville was led by Michael Murray, who scored the team's only goal. Murray scored 18:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Andrew Jarvis assisted on the tally.

Cornwall's Lascelle stopped 29 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Colts incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Henry Johnson made 38 saves for the Braves on 40 shots. Brockville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
