Kemptville downs Pembroke in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

 

The Kemptville 73s pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings on a clutch goal by Jake Gaudet.

 

Gaudet had two goals to lead Kemptville to victory. Gaudet found the back of the net 3:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Kemptville and again while 38 seconds into the fourth to make the score 3-2 Kemptville.

The 73s' offense rang up 39 shots on Pembroke's net.

Neal Samanski also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Bobby Dow, who had two and Tyson Kirkby, Cameron Russell, Tyler Beauparlant, and Liam Watson, who contributed one each.

The Lumber Kings stifled Kemptville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Pembroke was helped by Alex Gilmour, who tallied one goal. Gilmour scored on the power play 4:05 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. The Lumber Kings had gained a power play chance when Brandon Cole was whistled for roughing. Tyler ONeill picked up the assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Johnny Kyte as well. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Chris Minns, Nicolas Vlahos, and Brett Horn, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Hodgins made 24 saves for the 73s on 26 shots. Kemptville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Boyd Diclemente rejected 36 shots on goal for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
