Lalonde lifts Cornwall over Gloucester, 6-2

 

The Cornwall Colts relied on the scoring touch of Nick Lalonde, who netted two goals, to beat the Gloucester Rangers, 6-2.

Lalonde scored at 5:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall and again while 5:07 into the third to make the score 3-1 Cornwall.

 

Cornwall's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Gloucester power plays. Gloucester was unable to stop the Colts from sending pucks towards the net, and Cornwall eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. The Colts outdid their season average for goals scored. Cornwall averages 3.3 goals per game.

Cornwall also got points from Ethan Mulhearn, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cornwall included Tanner Spink, David A Poirier, and Matthew Morin, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cornwall came via Lawson MacDonald, who had three, Eric Verville, Sebastian Dirven, Tristan Conrad, and Shawn Baird, who each chipped in one, and Lawson MacDougall and Brennan Markell, who contributed two each.

The Rangers were helped by Jacob Kendrick, who registered one goal. Kendrick scored 13:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nicolas Seguin picked up the assist. Gloucester also got a goal from Sander Boroczky as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Alex Bilodeau, Drew Shields, and Vincent Guimond, who each chipped in one.

Liam Lascelle rejected 24 shots on goal for the Colts. Cornwall totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. The Colts ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Roddie Sandilands was ejected from the game. Gloucester's Cedric Hansen stopped 37 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
