Kemptville blows out Nepean, 5-1

 

The Nepean Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Kemptville 73s, which beat Raiders, 5-1.

 

Kemptville's penalty kill excelled, as the 73s gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Kemptville was sparked by Alex Row, who finished with one goal. Row scored 11:27 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. Quinn Wichers assisted on the tally.

The 73s stifled Nepean's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kemptville kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Marotte made 32 saves on 37 shots.

Kemptville additionally got points from Tyson Kirkby, who also had one goal and one assist and Brady Elder, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kemptville also had goals scored by Owen Guy and Cameron Bisson, who each put in one. More assists for Kemptville came via Bobby Dow, who had two and Kaelan OFlynn, Neal Samanski, Victor Tracy, and Liam Watson, who each chipped in one.

Nepean put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the 73s to score on any of their three power plays.

Peter Brooks made 21 saves for Kemptville on 22 shots. The 73s incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
