Carleton Place outlasts Pembroke, 4-2

 

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Carleton Place Canadians escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Carleton Place gained the winning advantage on a goal by Maxime StPierre 17:33 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

 

The Canadians were paced by StPierre, who grabbed one goal.

Carleton Place stifled Pembroke's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Carleton Place additionally got points from Alex Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Connor Merkley and Jordan Larson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were Marcus Joseph, Lucas Batt, Braedyn Asselstine, Matt Lombardozzi, Nicolas Carrier, and Alex Friesen, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings were helped by Alex Gilmour, who racked up one goal. Gilmour scored 15:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Tyler ONeill assisted on the tally. Pembroke also got a goal from Johnny Kyte as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Justin Felhaber, who had one.

Colton Point made 25 saves for the Canadians on 27 shots. Carleton Place incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Boyd Diclemente recorded 25 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
