Kemptville outlasts Gloucester, 4-2

 

The Kemptville 73s and the Gloucester Rangers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kemptville made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

The 73s gained the winning advantage on a goal by Owen Guy 13:34 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

 

Kemptville was led by Matt Tugnutt, who registered one goal and one assist. Tugnutt scored 1:21 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kemptville. Guy picked up the assist.

The 73s forced Gloucester goalie Cedric Hansen to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots.

Kemptville also got points from Guy, who also had one goal and two assists and Jason Tackett, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Kemptville also got a goal from Alex Row as well. More assists for Kemptville came via Quinn Wichers and Brandon Cole, who contributed one each.

The Rangers were helped by Nicholas Ngwafusi, who finished with one goal. Ngwafusi scored short handed 5:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Gloucester played down a man on Jahwara Rennalls's holding. Vincent Guimond assisted on the tally. Gloucester additionally got points from Guimond, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Salim Mahi-Beaudry, Paul Vella, and Sander Boroczky, who each chipped in one.

Peter Brooks made 18 saves for Kemptville on 20 shots. The 73s incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Hansen recorded 52 saves for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
