Hawkesbury blows out Brockville, 5-1

 

The Hawkesbury Hawks had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Brockville Braves.

 

Hawkesbury was led by Johnathan Kovacevic, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kovacevic scored 12:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury. Bruno Cheff picked up the assist.

The Hawks forced Brockville goalie Michael Cerasuolo to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Charles Levesque, who also had one goal and one assist and Brett Everson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Adriano Leone and Kyle Hillick, who scored one goal each. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Chris Smith, who had two and Thrander Eric, Brandon Barillaro, Ryan Bunka, and Joe Smith, who contributed one each.

The Braves did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Brockville puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. The Braves' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Brockville gives up 2.5 goals per game.

The Braves were led by Liam Folkes, who scored the team's only goal. Folkes scored 8:19 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Tre Folkes provided the assist.

Cole Skinner made 22 saves for Hawkesbury on 23 shots. The Hawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Cerasuolo rejected 39 shots on goal for Brockville. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
