Justin Cmunt Commits to Mercyhurst NCAA D-1 for 2019-20 season

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League along with the Carleton Place Canadians are proud to announce that ’98 born forward, Justin Cmunt has committed to Mercyhurst NCAA D-1 University for the 2019-20 season.

“I think Mercyhurst is a great fit academically for me and the hockey program is on the rise” said Justin Cmunt on his commitment, Friday.

Cmunt, 19, has posted 31 points (16G/15A) in 42 games this season, tying his career high set last season where he scored a total 31 points (14G/17P) in 38 games. The East Amherst, New York native made stops in the OJHL, USHL and NAHL before finding a home in Carleton Place last season.

“The caliber of players reporting in the next couple years to Mercyhurst have the ability to make something very special” mentioned Cmunt. “This are two big reasons why I feel Mercyhurst is a great fit for me”.

Cmunt will re-join the Canadians next season for his final year of Junior Hockey before joining Mercyhurst for the 2019-20 season at the age of 21.
