Hawkesbury rips Cumberland, 5-1

 

The Hawkesbury Hawks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Cumberland Grads.

 

Hawkesbury was paced by Marc-Antoine Bourbonnais, who finished with one goal and one assist. Bourbonnais scored 15:19 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Hawkesbury. CJ Stubbs assisted on the tally.

The Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cumberland power plays.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Jonathan Cyr, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Domenic Camastra, Jason Brochu, and Brandon Barillaro, who each put in one. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Ross Mandigo, Rory Gagnon, William Flynn, and Chris Harper, who contributed one each.

Cumberland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

The Grads were led by Zackhary Salloum, who scored the team's only goal. Salloum scored 1:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury. Chandler Watson picked up the assist.

CJ Sharp rejected 17 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Paul Leger recorded 25 saves for Cumberland. The Grads incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
