Good Friday Recap | OJS and CP take series leads

Brockville, Ontario –  The Ottawa Jr. Senators defeated the Brockville Braves to take a 2-0 series lead and the Canadians took down the Hawks 4-2 on Friday in the Ottawa Valley.

These two teams were tied 1-1 in the second until Owen Guy scored two goals in the final five minutes of the second frame to five Ottawa a two goal lead. They did not look back from there and ultimately scored twice in the third for the 5-1 win.

Captain, Owen Guy scored twice for his second two goal performance of the playoffs. He has now recorded a point in all two games against the Braves. ’97 born D Mike Thomas scored a goal and picked up two apples as well. Those were his first points of the post-season after he had gone seven games without a point. Darcy Walsh scored twice and has three goals in his last three games.

In the Brockville loss,  they were outshot 47-24 and went 1-7 on the man advantage. Holland scored the lone goal and has scored five goals in his last four playoff games. Brockville has been outscored 11-2 in the two games against Ottawa.

Game three is Sunday night in Ottawa.

F | Carleton Place 4, Hawkesbury 2 | CP Leads Series 1-0

The Canadians were up 4-0 and held onto the win even with the Hawks pressing hard in the third when they scored twice.

Carleton Place outshot Hawkesbury 35-24 in the win. Kitt (1G/1A) and Pryce has now recorded a point in three straight games.

For Hawkesbury, Gasuik and Tougas scored. Game two is tonight at 7:30 in Hawkesbury.
