Weekend Recap | Canadians go up 2-0, Braves gets 1st win of Series

Ottawa, ON – The Carleton Place Canadians took a 2-0 series lead on Hawkesbury while the Brockville Braves picked up their first victory in their series with Ottawa.

Samuel Knoblauch got the third period comeback started, Zach Tupker got the equalizer, and Josh Gagne gave Carleton Place the late lead as the Canadians came back from down 2-0 in the third to win 3-2 and take a 2-0 series lead on the Hawks.  Michael Leach made 29 saves for his fifth win of the postseason. 

Alex Taillon had both Hawkesbury goals while Matt Petizian made 27 saves in the losing effort.

Game 3 goes Tuesday night in Carleton Place at 7:15PM.

 

F | Brockville 3 Ottawa 1 | Ottawa leads series 2-1

It was the Justin Evenson show between the pipes for Brockville as the Minneapolis, MN native made 41 saves to help the Braves seal the 3-1 victory.  Nicholas Hawkins and Michael Locatelli each scored goals on Jr Senators Francois Boisvert while Eric Holland added the empty netter.

Pierre-Luc Verlette had the lone marker for Ottawa, while Boisvert finished with 19 saves. 

Game 4 is Friday night in Brockville at 7:30PM.
