Amherst, NS – The Ottawa Jr Senators finished their round-robin action Friday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over Maritime Hockey League champion Yarmouth Mariners.
Scoring for the Jr Senators was Andrew Remer (2), Owen Cole, Kyle Jackson, and Elie Boulerice, while Joshua Ward made 29-saves in nets.
With the loss, the Mariners have been eliminated from the Fred Page Cup.
Ottawa finishes the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 2-0-1 record for 7 points which puts them in first place for the time being. They will need to wait for the result of the Amherst Ramblers Vs Princeville Titan game Friday evening to know whether they get a direct bye into Sunday’s championship game or play in the semi-final Saturday.
