Commitment Alert | Canadians David Poirier set to join NCAA Skidmore College

The Central Canada Hockey League and Carleton Place Canadians are pleased to announce that defenseman David Poirier has committed to NCAA Skidmore College for the 2019-20 season.

The 1998 born Williamstown, ON native recently completed his final year of junior hockey with the Canadians after also spending time with the Cornwall Colts. In 74 combined regular season and playoff games this past season, Poirier totaled 31 points (15G, 16A). In 252 career games in the CCHL between the Canadians and Colts, he tallied 36 goals and totaled 93 points.

“Being able to play close to home in such a great league has been a treat,” said Poirier. “The CCHL has brought me experiences that I am beyond thankful for. I can’t wait to get down to Skidmore and start playing some hockey.”

Prior to his time in the CCHL, the quick-footed two-way defenseman spent a season in the CCHL2 with his hometown Charlan Rebels. Growing up, he played his minor hockey with the Eastern Ontario Wild AAA program.
