Dow nets hat trick, leads Kemptville to 13-4 win over Kanata

 

Bobby Dow netted a hat trick to lead the Kemptville 73s over the Kanata Lasers, 13-4.

Dow notched his first tally 2:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:43 into the second and at 1:43 into the third.

 

Kemptville led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring five goals in the second.

The 73s forced Kanata's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 53 shots and forcing 40 saves. Alex Butler made 21 stops and Jordan Vachon made 19. Kemptville bested its season scoring average. This season, the 73s average 3.6 goals per contest.

Kemptville also got points from Owen Guy, who also finished with two goals and two assists, Jason Tackett, who also had one goal and four assists, Dean Kiriacou, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Jake Gaudet, who also registered one goal and three assists, Matt Tugnutt, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Alex Row, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Victor Tracy, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Adam Alavi also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Kaelan OFlynn and Brandon Cole, who contributed one each and Matthew Titus and Cameron Russell, who each chipped in two.

The Lasers were led by Will Gauthier, who had one goal and one assist. Gauthier scored on the power play 6:45 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Kanata earned a power play opportunity when Tracy was put in the box for slashing. Kyle Dowdall picked up the assist. Others who scored for Kanata included Yannick Martel, Guisten Annetta, and David Pearce, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Sam Tremblay, Tyler Young, and Mike McArthur, who contributed one each.

Nicholas Hodgins rejected 22 shots on goal for Kemptville. The 73s incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Lasers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
