Day One Eastern Canada Cup Recap

Ottawa, ON – Monday afternoon and evening was the first day of the Eastern Canada Cup that is taking place in Trenton, ON. CCHL Robinson went on to win their first game 2-1 (SO) and their second game 3-2. CCHL Yzerman won their first game 3-2 (SO) and lost their second game 3-0. 

Game One | F | CCHL Robinson 2 NOJHL East 1

First goal for CCHL Robinson went to Caton Ryan (Carleton Place Canadians). Ryan also went on to win the shootout round, securing the first CCHL Robinson win. Kevin Jones (Pembroke Lumber Kings) ends the game with 23-saves.

Game One | F | CCHL Yzerman 3 MHL North 2

First goals of the game went to Remi Gelinas (Hawkesbury Hawks) and to Matthew Roy (Navan Grads) in the first period. Anthony Hall (Rockland Nationals) wins the shootout for Yzerman. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson (Navan Grads) makes 20-saves.

Game Two | F | CCHL Robinson 3 MHL South 2

Trevor Faucher (Smiths Falls Bears) gets the first goal for Robinson. Next period, Aleksy Bandu (Hawkesbury Hawks) and Andrew Morton (Renfrew Wolves) closes out the game. Goaltender Dawson Labre (Smiths Falls Bears) makes 16-saves.

Game Two | F | CCHL Yzerman 0 OJHL Hawerchuk 3

After a tough, 40 scoreless minutes for CCHL Yzerman, Donald Hickey (Cornwall Colts) makes 9-saves.
