Commitment Alert | Lasers Dylan McMahon commits to Bryn Athyn College

The Central Canada Hockey League and Kanata Lasers are pleased to announce that forward Dylan McMahon has committed to NCAA Bryn Athyn College for the 2020-21 season.

The 1999 born Kanata, ON native recently completed his final season of junior hockey with his hometown Lasers, where he collected 30 points (16G, 14A) in 32 games after coming over in a mid-season trade from the Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He picked up 176 points (88G, 88A) over the course of 4 seasons and 246 games played between the Smiths Falls Bears, Blind River Beavers (NOJHL), Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL), and Lasers.

Prior to his time in the junior hockey ranks, McMahon spent the 2015-16 season as a member of the Smiths Falls Bear U18 program of HEO U18 AAA. He is a product of both the Ottawa Senators AAA and Kanata Blazers AA Minor Hockey Associations.

“I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity Bryn Athyn College has given me,” said McMahon. “The coaches made me feel very welcomed instantly after reaching out. I love the close-knit and hockey-based community and I think it will be a great place for me to grow as a student athlete. I have nothing but good things to say about the Kanata Lasers organization. The coaches were very welcoming with me coming over late in the year and allowed me to be a big part of the team right away which helped me tremendously. I am very thankful to the Lasers staff and my teammates for their outstanding help getting me this opportunity.”

McMahon is the third member of the 2019-20 Lasers to make a college/university commitment, joining Trevor Poeze (Niagara University), and Liam Markhauser (University of Ottawa).
