CCHL Recap | Wolves and Junior Senators Win Saturday Evening

Ottawa, ON – The Renfrew Wolves hosted the Smiths Falls Bears for a Saturday evening matchup, after 60-minutes the Wolves won 6-4. The Ottawa Junior Senators hosted the Kemptville 73’s, where the Junior Senators won 1-0.

The first period saw no scoring, but the second period exploded with goals from Renfrew’s Noah VomScheidt (2) and Mathieu Paquin, countered by Smiths Falls’ Matthew Dimaline, Matthew Martin-Gaudreault, and Trevor Faucher. The third period continued the action, as Renfrew’s Mathieu Paquin, Ethan Smith, and Jace Letourneau found the net, while Smiths Falls responded with Luvas Culhane. Goaltender Dawson Labre of Smiths Falls made 33 saves, Renfrew’s Nolan Lane secured the win with 39 saves.

The first two periods saw no scoring, but Liam Lucas sealed the victory for Ottawa in the third period. Goaltender Jacob Biron of Kemptville made 16 saves, while Ottawa’s Connor Shibley stood strong with 23 saves, securing the shutout win.
