CCHL Recap | Canadians, Wolves, Hawks and 73’s Win Friday Evening

Ottawa, ON – Four intense games were live in the Central Canada Hockey League this Friday evening. The Carleton Place Canadians traveled to the Brockville Braves, the Canadians took the game 3-1. The Renfrew Wolves traveled to visit the Smiths Falls Bears, after 60-minutes the Wolves won 7-4. The Hawkesbury Hawks hosted the Navan Grads, the Hawks won 6-3. The Kemptville 73’s hosted the Rockland Nationals, after 60-minutes, overtime and an intense shootout the 73’s win 4-3. 

F | Carleton Place 3 Brockville 1

The first period saw goals from Thomas Enrietto for Carleton Place and Zach Biniaris for Brockville, setting an early tone. In the second period, Carleton Place took the lead with Noah Kinloch Varga finding the net. The intensity continued in the third period, with Carleton Place’s Caton Ryan sealing the win. Goaltender Ian Vandenberg played a crucial role for Carleton Place, making 32 saves, while Brockville’s Zane Spaniol made 21 saves.

F | Renfrew 7 Smiths Falls 4

The first period saw Renfrew’s Noah VomScheidt and Kai Billey finding the net. In the second period, Renfrew extended their lead with goals from Ethan Smith and Austin Fellinger, while Smiths Falls responded with goals from Matthew Martin-Gaudreault and Alec Hamady. The third period intensified as Smiths Falls fought back with goals from Owen Watson and Shaymus Stevenson. Renfrew, however, secured the win with additional goals from Noah VomScheidt, Jace Letourneau, and Andrew Morton. Goaltender Nolan Lane for Renfrew, made 33 saves, while Smiths Falls’ Dawson Labre made 22 saves. 

F | Navan 3 Hawkesbury 6

The first period saw goals from Wyatt Schmidek and Alexis Billequey for Hawkesbury. In the second period, Danny Markham got Navan on the board, but Billequey struck again for Hawkesbury completed a remarkable hat-trick. The third period intensified as Colin Holmes and Devon Savignac scored for Navan, but Billequey scored another two goals for Hawkesbury. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson made 30 saves for Navan, while Hawkesbury’s Dimitri Pelekos made 43 saves. 

F | Rockland 3 Kemptville 4 (SO)

The first period saw Rockland’s Aidan Dres finding the net. Anthony Hall extended Rockland’s lead in the second period, countered by Trey Wandall for Kemptville. The third period featured goals from Tanner Fennell and Grady Logue for Kemptville, with Trystan-Felix Tremblay responding for Rockland. Overtime remained scoreless, leading to a decisive shootout where Gavin McDougall netted the lone goal for Kemptville. Goaltender Sebastian Resar made 26 saves for Rockland, while Kemptville’s Jacob Biron made with 23 saves.
