CCHL Recap | Wolves, 73s, Canadians and Nationals Win Friday Evening

Ottawa, ON – Friday evening had four games in the Central Canada Hockey LeagueThe Renfrew Wolves traveled to visit the Brockville Braves, and won 8-4. The Kemptville 73’s traveled to see the Smiths Falls Bears and won 3-2. The Carleton Place Canadians visited the Hawkesbury Hawks, where the Canadians won 3-2. The Rockland Nationals hosted the Ottawa Junior Senators for a 6-3 win. 

F | Renfrew 8 Brockville 4

In the 1st period, Aaron Enright and Dane Carter scored for Renfrew, countered by Ryan McNally for Brockville. The 2nd period saw Aidan Carolan and Liam Reid for Brockville, answered by Mathieu Paquin and Dane Carter for Renfrew. The 3rd period sealed the win for Renfrew with goals from Mathieu Paquin, Jace Letourneau, and Henry Wilson (2), while Keishawn Thompson scored for Brockville. Renfrew’s Viacheslav Gordeichuk made 27 saves, while Brockville’s Dustin Riff made 28.

F | Kemptville 3 Smiths Falls 2

The 1st period remained scoreless, setting the stage for an intense game. The 2nd period saw Trevor Faucher and Shaymus Stevenson scoring for Smiths Falls, with Tyler Melvin responding for Kemptville. The 3rd period proved decisive as Emile Trottier and Ryan Rutley netted goals for Kemptville. Kemptville’s goaltender, Jacob Biron, played a stellar game, making an impressive 38 saves to keep his team in the lead. On the other end, Smiths Falls’ goaltender, Dawson Labre, made 15 saves. 

F | Carleton Place 3 Hawkesbury 2

In the 1st period, Cole Mathews and Masen Culley found the net for Carleton Place, countered by Deklyn Campbell’s goal for Hawkesbury. The 2nd period witnessed Owen Hardy scoring for Hawkesbury and Bill Gourgon responding for Carleton Place. The 3rd period saw no additional scoring, solidifying the slim lead for Carleton Place. Goaltender Aidan Feddema was a stalwart presence for Carleton Place, making 30 crucial saves. On the opposing end, Hawkesbury’s netminder Dimitri Pelekos put up a commendable performance with 36 saves

F | Ottawa 3 Rockland 6

The 1st period set the tone with Aidan Dres, Jaden Davis, Alex Kelloway, and Kai Stothers scoring for Rockland, while Liam Lucas netted one for Ottawa. In the 2nd, Brandon Paluszak responded for Ottawa, but Aidan Dres extended Rockland’s lead. The 3rd period featured Jeremie Ndeffo adding another for Rockland and Kaleb Dietsch scoring for Ottawa. Ottawa’s starting goaltender, Connor Shibley, made 10 saves before being replaced by Will Mizenko, who made 16 saves. Rockland’s Benoit Forget stood strong with 20 saves.
