CCHL Recap | Grads, Colts, Hawks, Junior Senators and Nationals Win Friday Night

Ottawa, ON – Five intense games took place Friday night in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Navan Grads took a trip to visit the Brockville Braves and went to overtime for a Grads 5-4 win. The Cornwall Colts traveled to the Smiths Falls Bears den and took home a 5-2 win. The Hawkesbury Hawks hosted the Nepean Raiders, and won 4-1 on home ice. The Ottawa Junior Senators visited the Kemptville 73’s, and brought a 3-1 win back home. The Rockland Nationals hosted the Pembroke Lumber Kings, after 60-minutes the Nationals win 3-1.

F | Navan 5 Brockville 4 (OT)

The 1st period saw goals from Devon Savignac and Sebbie Johnson for Navan, countered by Marcus Mori for Brockville. Nicholas Paone extended Navan’s lead in the 2nd period, answered by Dylan Coyle of Brockville. The 3rd period intensified the battle, with Noah Carpenter scoring for Navan and Aidan Carolan along with Dylan Coyle contributing for Brockville. The overtime heroics belonged to Devon Savignac of Navan. Goaltenders Haydn Gould of Navan and Zane Spaniol of Brockville showcased their skills, with Gould making 31 saves and Spaniol making 27 saves.

F | Cornwall 5 Smiths Falls 2

The 1st period featured goals from Tristan Miron, Adam Walker, and Bradley Fraser for Cornwall, while Tanner Terness found the net for Smiths Falls. Bradley Fraser and Ethan Montroy added to Cornwall’s lead in the 2nd period. Alec Hamady scored for Smiths Falls in the 3rd period, but Cornwall’s defense held strong. Goaltender Donald Hickey of Cornwall made 33 saves, while Dax Easter of Smiths Falls made 23 saves. 

F | Nepean 1 Hawkesbury 4

Alexis Billequey opened the scoring for Hawkesbury in the 1st period, followed by goals from Aidan Stubbings and Alexis Minville in the 2nd period. Curtiss Sturgeon scored the lone goal for Nepean in the 3rd period, but Hawkesbury’s Alex Fournier sealed the win. Goaltender Brady McEwan of Nepean made 33 saves, while Dimitri Pelekos of Hawkesbury made 36 saves.

F | Kemptville 1 Ottawa 3

Conrad Moline netted two goals for Ottawa in the 1st period, and Alexandrre Cote added another in the 2nd period. Tyler Melvin scored the lone goal for Kemptville in the 2nd period. The 3rd period remained scoreless. Goaltender Connor Shibley of Ottawa made 20 saves, and Jacob Biron of Kemptville made 19 saves.

F | Rockland 3 Pembroke 1

Jeremie Ndeffo and Guillaume Labre scored in the 1st period, with Cam Hicklin contributing for Pembroke. Jaden Davis added another for Rockland in the 3rd period. Goaltender Kevin Jones of Pembroke made 38 saves, while Benoit Forget of Rockland made 21 saves.
