CCHL Recap | Bears and Ottawa Junior Senators Take Saturday Night Wins

Ottawa, ON – The Smiths Falls Bears traveled to meet the Renfrew Wolves, after 60-minutes Smiths Falls took a 2-1 win. The Ottawa Junior Senators hosted the Carleton Place Canadians for a Saturday night victory of 4-2.

Alec Hamady got Smiths Falls on the board during the 1st period, showcasing their offensive prowess. The 2nd period saw Shaymus Stevenson extend the lead for Smiths Falls. However, Renfrew fought back in the 3rd period, with Ethan Smith scoring to narrow the gap. The goaltending duel was intense, with Smiths Falls’ netminder Dax Easter making an impressive 36 saves to safeguard the lead. On the other end, Renfrew’s Viacheslav Gordeichuk put up a solid effort with 24 saves.

The 1st period featured goals from Will Soloway for Carleton Place and Lucas LeBlanc for Ottawa, setting the stage for an entertaining matchup. Ottawa continued their offensive momentum into the 2nd period, with Conrad Moline finding the back of the net. Carleton Place fought back in the 3rd period, with Thomas Enritetto scoring, but Ottawa responded with goals from Jordan Graham and Liam Lucas to secure the win. Goaltenders played a crucial role in this game, with Carleton Place’s Aidan Feddema making 26 saves in an effort to keep his team in the game. Ottawa’s Will Mizenko stood tall in the net, making 20 saves.
