CCHL Recap | Raiders, Canadians, Grads and Braves Win Sunday Games

Ottawa, ON – Three afternoon games and one evening game were in full swing this Sunday in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Nepean Raiders hosted the Hawkesbury Hawks, Raiders take the game 4-1. The Carleton Place Canadians hosted the Renfrew Wolves, where the Canadians win in overtime 2-1. The Navan Grads had a visit from the Cornwall Colts, in overtime the Grads take it 4-3. The Brockville Braves traveled to visit the Pembroke Lumber Kings, in overtime the Braves took it 4-3.

F | Hawkesbury 1 Nepean 4

Kendel Geier opened the scoring for Nepean in the 1st period. In the 2nd period, Wyatt Schmidek of Hawkesbury responded with a goal. However, Nepean came back strong in the 3rd period, with goals from Dylan Paron, Owen Hardy, and Nolan DeFazio. Nepean goaltender Brady McEwan made 25 saves, while Hawkesbury’s Caleb Chabot stopped 22 shots.

F | Renfrew 1 Carleton Place 2 (OT)

Joshua Penney scored for Renfrew in the 1st period, answered by Ben Neil of Carleton Place in the 2nd period. The game remained tied until overtime when Will Soloway clinched the win for Carleton Place. Goaltenders Viacheslav Gordeichuk of Renfrew makes 29-saves and Jackson Pundyk of Carleton Place made 27-saves.

F | Cornwall 3 Navan 4 (OT)

Devon Savignac and Kobe Tallman traded goals in the 1st period. Cornwall took the lead in the 2nd period with goals from Fernand-Olivier Perron and Kaiden Pyke, answered by Briggs Jowett of Navan. In the 3rd period, Gabriel Crete equalized for Navan. The game-winner came in overtime with another goal from Crete. Goaltenders Xander Miceli of Cornwall makes 29-saves and Jaeden Nelson of Navan makes 26-saves.

F | Brockville 4 Pembroke 3 (OT)

Zach Biniaris opened the scoring in the 1st period, but Pembroke responded in the 2nd period with goals from Ryan Parent and Eric Barnard, countered by Lucas Culhane of Brockville. In the 3rd period, Zach Biniaris notched another goal for Brockville, and John Takos equalized for Pembroke. The game-winner came in overtime from Aidan Carolan. Goaltender Zane Spaniol of Brockville made an impressive 43 saves, while Kevin Jones of Pembroke stopped 20 shots.
