CCHL Recap | Colts and Bears Win Thursday Evening

Ottawa, ON – There were two games in session on Thursday evening in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Cornwall Colts hosted the Hawkesbury Hawks, where the Colts took the game 6-1. The Smiths Falls Bears hosted the Brockville Braves, after 60-minutes the Bears won 7-2.

The game kicked off with goals from Edward Downey for Hawkesbury and Ethan Montroy for Cornwall in the first period. Cornwall took control in the second, with Tristan Miron and Fernand-Olivier Perron finding the net. The third period saw Cornwall extend their lead with goals from Luc Beliveau, Brayden Bowen and Fernand-Olivier Perron. Hawkesbury’s goaltender Caleb Chabot made 24 saves before being replaced by Dimitri Pelekos, and Pelekos adding 12 saves. Cornwall’s goaltender Donald Hickey stood tall, making 31 saves.

F | Brockville 2 Smiths Falls 7

In the first period, Kyle James and Travis Ouellette score for Smiths Falls, while Jesse Lumsden nets one for Brockville. Thomas Cormier responds for Brockville in the second, but goals from Quinn Booth and Trevor Faucher extend Smiths Falls’ lead. The third period sees Smiths Falls sealing the win with goals from Travis Ouellette, Peter Rosa and Tyson Parker. Brockville’s goaltender Zane Spaniol made 36 saves. Smiths Falls goaltender Nikolas Trakakis stands strong with 13 saves.
