CCHL Recap | Canadians, Bears, Wolves and Grads Win Friday Evening

Ottawa, ON – Friday night featured four games in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Carleton Place Canadians traveled to meet the Brockville Braves, where the Canadians won 3-2. The Smiths Falls Bears hosted the Hawkesbury Hawks, the Bears took the game 4-0. The Renfrew Wolves visited the Kemptville 73’s, where the Wolves won 5-2. The Navan Grads visited the Rockland Nationals, after 60-minutes the Grads won 4-0.

F | Carleton Place 3 Brockville 2

William Bouwer struck first for Carleton Place in the 1st period, matched by Dylan Coyle for Brockville. In the 2nd period Thomas Cormier put Brockville in the lead. However, Carleton Place responded strongly in the final period, with Caton Ryan and Loic Prudhomme scoring goals to secure the victory. Carleton Place’s Aidan Feddema made 14 saves and Brockville’s Zane Spaniol made 31 saves.

F | Hawkesbury 0 Smiths Falls 4

The game started strong for Smiths Falls, with Matthew Dimaline and Julien Wasmer netting goals in the 1st period. Dimaline continued his scoring spree in the 2nd period, extending Smiths Falls’ lead. Smiths Falls’ Shaymus Stevenson sealed the win with a goal in the 3rd period. In the net, Hawkesbury’s Dimitri Pelekosmade 23 saves. Smiths Falls’ Dawson Labre turned away 28 shots to secure the shutout victory.

F | Renfrew 5 Kemptville 2

The 1st period remained scoreless. Renfrew surged ahead in the 2nd period, with Andrew Morton and Jace Letourneau finding the back of the net, countered by goals from Kemptville’s Ryan Rutley and Tyler Melvin. The final period saw Renfrew’s Noah Vom Schmidt, Letourneau, and Emmitt Robillard with three consecutive goals. Renfrew’s goaltender Nolan Lane made 32 saves, while Kemptville’s Jacob Biron made 31 saves.

F | Navan 4 Rockland 0

The 1st period remained scoreless. Navan took charge in the 2nd period, with Nicholas Paone and Gabriel Crete lighting up the scoreboard. In the 3rd period, Navan continued their scoring, as Danny Markham and Crete added two more goals to seal the win. Navan’s goaltender Jaeden Nelson made 32 saves, while Rockland’s Benoit Forget made 26 saves.
