CCHL Recap | Bears and Grads Win Tuesday Night

Ottawa, ON – There was two games in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Smiths Falls Bears hosted the Nepean Raiders, where the Bears took the game 5-0. The Navan Grads hosted the Pembroke Lumber Kings, after 60-minutes the Grads won 6-1.

The first period saw Quinn Booth, Trevor Faucher (twice), and Travis Ouellette each finding the net for Smiths Falls, setting the tone early on. Shaymus Stevenson added another goal in the second period, extending their lead. Despite effort in the third period, there was no scoring. Both goaltenders showcased their skills, with Nepean’s John Gedraitis making 30 saves and Smiths Falls’ Nikolas Trakakis stopping 20 shots to secure the shutout.

F | Pembroke 1 Navan 6

Luke Moore opened the scoring in the first period for Navan. In the second period, Shaan Kingwell scored twice, and Cristobal Tola added another goal for Navan. Pembroke managed a goal from Maverick Hayes in the third period, but Navan quickly responded with goals from Ethan Coups and Shaan Kingwell to seal the win. Pembroke’s goaltenders Kevin Jones and Jacob Morgan made a combined 38 saves, while Navan’s Braxton Castagno stood tall with 38 saves.
