Release | Smiths Falls Bears’ Shaymus Stevenson Named Graduating Player of the Year

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Smiths Falls BearsShaymus Stevenson has been named Graduating Player of the Year.

In 53 games of action, the 2003 born Dryden, ON native sits with 55 points (28G, 27A). Stevenson has played three seasons with the Bears for a total of 141 games. For a tally of 83 points (39G, 44A).

“Shaymus came to the Bears organization & CCHL and has grown into one of the league’s premier 2 way players. His commitment to his development has never wavered and he has bought into the process of advancing his game. Shaymus plays the game the right way in all situations, prides himself in his 200 ft game and is still getting better every day. His future is bright and whichever NCAA program he commits to will get a quality player and even better person.” Says the Bears Head Coach Pat Malloy.

Prior to joining the Bears, Stevenson played for the Thunder Bay Kings U16 AAA and Ridley College.
