CCHL ANNOUNCES CCM/HESN PLAYER/GOALIE/ROOKIE OF THE MONTH HONORS FOR OCTOBER

The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the CCM/HESN Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for October. 

 

The Player of the Month is Matt Tugnutt of the Kemptville 73’sTugnutt was great this past month collecting 19 (9G, 10A) points in their 11 games played in October. The 73’s forward earned (3) game stars including two first and a third. The Sacred Heart commit currently leads his team in scoring, the CCHL in goals with 16, and is 2nd in overall league scoring with 31 (16G, 15A) points in 23 games thus far.

 

The Goalie of the Month honor goes to Smiths Falls Bears Bradley Dobson. The Bears goaltender was absolutely stellar in the month of October posting a 5-1 record to keep his team among the top in the league. Dobson also earned 2 shut-outs in October while boasting a spectacular 1.66 Goals Against and .942 Save Percentage. The Moose Factory, ON native who recently earned CCHL Player of Week honors also was selected a game star (two 1st, one 3rd) in 3 of the 6 games he played in October. The Smiths Falls netminder currently leads all CCHL goalies in both Goals Against (2.19) and Save Percentage (.927).

 

The Rookie of the Month for October is Merrick Rippon of the Ottawa Jr. SenatorsRippon accumulated 9 (3G 6A) points in 10 games where the Jr. Senators went 9-1 in October. The 16 year-old rookie defenseman has been turning heads while playing in every situation. The Ottawa, ON native is playing well beyond his years and there’s little doubt that he will become a top blue-liner in the CCHL in the years to come.
