The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to award the Gongshow Academic Player of the Month for October to Charles Levesque of the Hawkesbury Hawks

Honorable Mention going to Bailey Brant of the Nepean Raiders, Elie Boulerice of the Ottawa Jr. Senators and Jared Henry of the Smiths Falls Bears.

Charles Levesque, the CCHL’s Academic Player of the Month for October, is a forward in his second year with the Hawkesbury Hawks and has continued his extraordinary results both in the classroom and on the ice. Charles marks on tests and assignments for the month of October are averaging an A- overall while taking courses in the Biochemistry Program at the University of Ottawa. On the ice in the month of October, Charles has accumulated 14 points (six goals and eight assists). This has helped place him amongst the top ten in scoring in the CCHL and second in team scoring for the Hawks so far this season with 29 points. Charles has also accepted a scholarship offer to attend UMass Lowell.

Honorable mention for the October Academic Player of the Month goes to Bailey Brant (Peak Academy) a defenceman from the Nepean Raiders, Elie Boulerice (University of Ottawa) a forward from the Ottawa Jr. Senators and Jared Henry (St. Lawrence College) a defenceman from the Smiths Falls Bears. All three players have had great starts to their season on the ice as they are all key components to their teams every night playing substantial minutes in key situations as well as excelling in the classroom taking full-time course loads at their respectful institutions and each averaging 90% overall for their courses.  This month’s nominees from around the league were a very strong group both academically and athletically which means our student athletes are off to great starts to the season both in the classroom and on the ice and look forward to receiving the same calibre of nominees moving forward for the 2016-17 season.
