Carleton Place Canadians Daniel Vazzoler named recipient of the Annual Chris Messina Broadcasting Award

Each year the CHRIS MESSINA BROADCASTING AWARD is presented in memory of CCHL Broadcasting Program Founder Chris Messina who passed away suddenly in 2017. The award is given to the broadcaster who best exemplifies commitment to the CCHL Broadcasting Program, his CCHL team as well as other member teams. This individual also offers assistance above and beyond to new broadcasters and demonstrates enormous effort and enthusiasm while striving for excellence-all traits that were evident in Chris.

This years winner is Daniel Vazzoler from the Carleton Place Canadians. Daniel has called over 250 games for the Canadians. Daniel graduated from Carleton with a journalism degree in 2017 and was hired by Hockey TV to do the play by play broadcasting for the 2019 QMJHL Gator Challenge. Daniel has also been a hockey official for the past 13 seasons just like Chris was before his broadcasting career.
Congratulations Daniel!
