Cameron nets hat trick, leads Cumberland to 5-3 win over Carleton Place

 

A hat trick by Shawn Cameron was the highlight in Grads' 5-3 win against the Carleton Place Canadians.

Cameron's first goal came 38 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 14:58 into the first and at 16:00 into the second.

 

Cumberland also had goals scored by Mathieu Dubois and Branden Makara, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cumberland came via Zackhary Salloum, Grant Hebert, Ted McCabe, and Benoit Villeneuve, who contributed one each and Marc-Olivier Bouchard and Martin Frechette, who each chipped in two.

Carleton Place's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cumberland power plays. The Canadians' offense rang up 31 shots on the Cumberland Grads' net.

Carleton Place was led by Bryce VanHorn, who registered one goal and one assist. VanHorn scored 5:58 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Maxime StPierre picked up the assist. Carleton Place also got points from Lucas Batt, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also got a goal from Shawn Kennedy as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Jacob Moreau, Geoff Kitt, and Brett Murray, who contributed one each.

Thierry Messervier rejected 28 shots on goal for Cumberland. The Grads incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Canadians took out James Edwardson after he had made four saves and installed Colton Point in goal, where he finished with 15 saves and the loss. Carleton Place incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
