Brockville boosted by Johnson's play in net, beats Pembroke 2-1

 

Henry Johnson had a standout game with 33 saves, and the Brockville Braves beat the Pembroke Lumber Kings 2-1.

 

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Brockville was sparked by Declan Hilton, who had one goal. Hilton scored 3:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Alexander Sifton picked up the assist.

The Braves stifled Pembroke's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Neil Robinson also scored for Brockville. In addition, Brockville received assists from Thomas Fingler, Ian Johnston, and Liam Folkes, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brockville to score on any of its three power plays. The Braves were unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Pembroke was led by Jesse Blais, who scored the team's only goal. Blais scored 3:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Brock Rumbaugh provided the assist.

Brockville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Sean Green made 18 saves for the Lumber Kings on 20 shots. Pembroke incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
