For the second straight week, Darren Smith was exceptional in the crease, and for the second straight week he was named WCHA Rookie of the Week. The former Pembroke Lumber Kings goaltender went 1-0-1 helping Ferris State capture three of a possible four points in their out-of- town series against Bemidji State.
On Friday night he turned aside 28 shots in a 3-2 victory before posting 35 saves the following night in a close knotted 1-1 tie.
The Barrie, ON native is now 8-4-5 on the year with a 2.11 GAA and .928 SV% while also posting 1 shutout.
