Two third-period goals from Kyle Dowdall lifted the Smiths Falls Bears to a 3-1 win over the Kemptville 73’s on Wednesday night.
Brett Humberstone had the other goal in the win for Smiths Falls (6-6-0), while captain Tyson Kirkby had the lone goal for Kemptville (2-10-1).
Bears goaltender Kyle Renaud stopped 28 of 29 shots faced en route to his fourth win of the season; Peter Brooks surrendered three goals on 35 shots to take the loss.
Wednesday was Jeff Jordan’s debut as head coach behind the 73’s bench; the man he replaced — Rob Dopson — was on the opposite bench as a Bears assistant coach.
