Tackett's hat trick boosts Kemptville over Carleton Place, 7-2

 

The Carleton Place Canadians could not stop the Kemptville 73s' Jason Tackett, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-2 win.

Tackett's first goal came 6:44 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:51 into the first and at 6:51 into the second.

 

Kemptville surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The 73s have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Kemptville found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

Kemptville additionally got points from Tyson Kirkby, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Dean Kiriacou, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kemptville also had goals scored by Matthew Titus and Jake Gaudet, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Quinn Wichers, Kaelan OFlynn, Adam Alavi, Brandon Cole, and Bobby Dow, who each chipped in one and Cameron Russell, Alex Row, and Liam Watson, who contributed two each.

Carleton Place put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the 73s to score on any of their five power plays. The Canadians could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Carleton Place averages 4.8 goals per game. The Canadians' offense rang up 32 shots on Kemptville's net.

Nicholas Hodgins made 30 saves for the 73s on 32 shots. Adrian Clark took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Colton Point who made six saves. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
