Sunday Night Recap | January 7th – Six Games

Carleton Place 5, Brockville 3

The Carleton Place Canadians got back in the win column today with a win today at home.

Travis Broughman scored his 20th goal of the season while Tim Theocharidis recorded three points (1G/2A) in the win. Adam Pilotte also scored his first career CCHL Tier 1 goal and Leach made 24 saves on 27 shots for his 13th victory of the year. CP went 3-6 on the power-play after going 0-7 last night.

In the Braves loss, Nicolas Vlahos netted three assists and Evenson made 34 saves.

Cornwall 6, Kemptville 5

Cornwall stormed back to tie the game 5-5 with 45 seconds left on the clock and took a much needed tow points away from the Kemptville 73’s 6-5 in overtime.

Benjamin Dirven scored the tying and game winning goal for his first and second goals of the year. Ethan Mulhearn (2A), Tanner (1G/1) and Colins (1G/1A) all netted two points in the win.

Joel Holtrop recorded his first multi-point effort of the season with two goals in the 73’s loss tonight. Faith (1G/1A), Domitrovic (1G/1A) and Titus (2A) all record two points in the loss. Domitrovic records a multi-point game for the first time since October 27th 2017 at Smiths Falls.

Ottawa 5, Navan 3

Ottawa scored three unanswered goals in the third period to swipe a victory away from the Grads after they were leading 3-2 after 40 minutes.

Darcy Walsh (1G/2A) and Blacksmith (3A) both score three points while Hicks makes 23 saves for the victory. Walsh extends his point streak to a season high five straight games (2G/5A). Jr. Sens have won five straight games.

Giacobbo makes 34 saves in the loss. He has now seen 35 or more shots against in seven of his last eight starts. Cianci scores his first goal since November 5th and his first multi-point game of the year. The Grads have lost ten straight games.

Kanata 4, Nepean 2

The Kanata Lasers keep on rolling with a 4-2 victory over Nepean. They are now 10-0-2 since their last regulation loss.

Bennett Stockdale adds two assists and has now registered a point in six of his last seven games (4G/8A). Liam Markhauser also added two assists in the win and has now recorded a point in five of his last seven games (1G/6A). Ugo Roik also played in his first game of the year after going down with a wrist injury last season.

Nepean is now 1-1 since the break. With two helpers today, Mattawashish has five points since joining Nepean (4GP, 3G/2A).

Pembroke 4, Smiths Falls 2

The Lumber Kings three straight goals in the final frame to continue their winning streak to two games.

Browne scored three points (2G/1A) for his first two goal effort since October 27th 2017 vs Nepean. Matthew Barnaby also added two assists to increase his point total to 49 points in 38 games for a new career high in points.

Hayden Hart adds a goal and an assist for his first multi-point of the season in the Bears loss.

Rockland 3, Hawkesbury 1

The Rockland Nationals finish the week with a 2-1 record after a win over Hawkesbury today.

Antoine Leblanc increases his goal streak to four games with two goals today. He has four goals in his last five games and recorded his first multi-goal contest since October 1st vs Nepean. Blanchette also scores his 21st goal of the season which is four shy of his career high of 25 set last season in the QCHL.

Hawkesbury is now 0-2 since the break after a 2-0 loss to Kanata on Thursday and a loss today.
