Saturday Recap | Navan and Hawkesbury get late goals to snag victories

 

Ottawa, Ontario – Both Navan and Hawkesbury needed late game-winning goals on Saturday night in the Central Hockey League circuit.

F | Navan 3, Ottawa 2

Curtis Fabbro scored the game winner in the final five minutes of the third period, snapping the Navan Grads four game skid. Navan gets their first win against the Ottawa Jr. Senators since February 22nd, 2017.

Ottawa had the lead twice and could not hold on. They outshot Navan 40-21. Darcy Walsh scored his eighth of the season. The Jr. Sens two game winning streak ends – they’ll take on the Grads in Navan tomorrow afternoon.

F | Hawkesbury 5, Cornwall 4

The Hawkesbury Hawks extended their winning streak to three games. Hunter Duchesne‘s short-handed goal in the final five minutes of the game was the difference.

Nicolas Elia (2 G), Michael Marleau (2 A), Jeremie Lavallee (2 A) each had multi-point games for the Hawks.

The Cornwall Colts Evan Huntley netted two assists and Josh Barnes scored his fourth in the loss. Hawks outshot the Colts 44-27. Cornwall went 2-4 on the PP and Hawkesbury went 2-5.
