Release | Nationals Xavier Laurent Named Defenseman of the Year

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Rockland Nationals defenseman and caption Xavier Laurent has been named the 2023/24 Defenseman of the Year.

The 2003 born Laval, QC native leads all CCHL defensemen in points (43) and second in goals (14) through 52 games of action. Laurent, is in his second season with the Nationals has totalled 57 points (18G, 39A) in 105 career games.

“Xavier has been a terrific leader for the Nationals’ Program, both on and off the ice. This season, Xavier represented Rockland at the Eastern Canada Cup, as well as in the CCHL All Star Game. Xavier was named Captain of our organization and has done an outstanding job leading the Program. Not only is he a fierce defender, Xavier is one of the best offensive producing defensemen in the league. Xavier has also been a great mentor and leader for all his teammates, he leads through his actions with his dedication, discipline and passion for the game.  The Rockland Nationals are really proud of all of Xavier’s achievements and he will go down as one of the top players in our team’s history.
