Ottawa, ON – There were four games that took place Friday evening in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Nepean Raiders traveled to the Brockville Braves, where after 60 minutes the Raiders won 5-1. The Smiths Falls Bears hosted the Pembroke Lumber Kings, the Bears took the game 4-1. The Rockland Nationals hosted the Carleton Place Canadians, after 60 minutes the Nationals won 4-3. The Renfrew Wolves hosted the Hawkesbury Hawks, where the Wolves earned a 4-0 shutout.
F | Nepean 5 Brockville 1
Brockville started strong with Peter Legostaev scoring in the 1st period, but Nepean quickly responded with Curtiss Sturgeon finding the net. The 2nd period saw Riley Streska giving Nepean the lead. The 3rd period was all Nepean as Oliver Band, Joshua Reid, and Riley Streska secured the win with their goals. Nepean goaltender John Gedraitis made 37 saves, while Brockville’s Zane Spaniol put up a tough fight with 40 saves.
F | Pembroke 1 Smiths Falls 4
The 1st period saw Smiths Falls taking a lead with goals from Quinn Booth and Owen Watson. The 2nd period remained scoreless, but Smiths Falls returned strong in the 3rd period, with Booth and Kyle Dagg extending the lead. Pembroke managed a goal by Charlie Blewett. Goaltenders Jacob Morgan for Pembroke and Dawson Labre for Smiths Falls both put up solid performances, with Morgan making 21 saves and Labre making 22 saves
F | Carleton Place 3 Rockland 4
The 1st period saw Mathieu Fillion scoring for Rockland, while Will Soloway and Caton Ryan responded for Carleton Place. In the 2nd period, Trystan-Felix Tremblay and Samuel Dumont extended Rockland’s lead. Carleton Place fought back in the 3rd period with Masen Culley’s goal, but Trystan-Felix Tremblay’s second goal for Rockland sealed the win. Both goaltenders, Aidan Feddema for Carleton Place and Benoit Forget for Rockland, made 27 saves each.
F | Hawkesbury 0 Renfrew 4
The first two periods saw no scoring from either team, but Renfrew exploded in the third period with goals from Noah Vom Schmidt, Kai Billey (2 goals), and Jace Letourneau. Hawkesbury’s goaltender Caleb Chabot made 33 saves. Renfrew’s Viacheslav Gordeichuk made 26 saves to secure the shutout win.
