Release | Nationals’ Kyle Leonard Named Sportsmanship & Ability Award Recipient

 

OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Rockland Nationals 2003 born Orléans, ON, Kyle Leonard has been named the 2023/24 Sportsmanship & Ability Award recipient.

Kyle has played a vital role in Rockland’s success this season,” said Nationals Head Coach Justin Pereira. “He is an exceptional 200-foot center who plays in every situation. Kyle possesses elite top end speed and is one of the leagues best defensive forwards with his work ethic, and relentless pace. He has also added an offensive element to his game this season with his ability to create plays off  the rush and is currently leading the Nationals in points this season, while sitting 15th in CCHL  scoring.

More importantly, Kyle has been a great role model for all his Nationals teammates this season.  From an off-ice perspective, he is a man of true character and extremely cares for his teammates. He shows his discipline and dedication each day with managing both hockey and his studies. Kyle is currently taking part-time university classes at the University of Ottawa in Engineering while earning over 80% average.”
