Release | Grads’ Marty Abrams Named Coach of the Year

 – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Marty Abrams from the
Navan Grads has been named 2023/24 Coach of the Year.

Abrams, 59, who is from Kingston, ON is in his sixth season as the Head Coach of the Grads after joining the team in the 2018/19. 

This season, Abrams has helped lead the Grads to a league-leading 36-9-3-2 record. The Grads place 2nd in Goals Against (137) and Goal Differential (+79), while sitting 1st in Goals For (216). In the Special Teams Department, the Grads rank 3rd in PK% (85.5%).

Congratulations to Marty Abrams on being named CCHL Coach of the Year. Marty’s dedication, expertise and leadership have been instrumental in our team’s success this season. Marty is closing in on 900 career Junior A wins as a Head Coach and his results and success speak for themselves.

Marty has been an excellent mentor, and this well-deserved recognition highlights his outstanding contributions to our organization and the CCHL. Our program has made great strides in the development of our players both on and off the ice since we have arrived in Navan, and we look forward to continued success.” Says Associate Coach Ryan Woodward.
