OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce the CCM Hockey Performers of the Month for February.
Thomas Cusson from the Hawkesbury Hawks is the Player of the Month, William Desmarais of the Ottawa Junior Senators is Goaltender of the Month, while Gabriel Filion from the Rockland Nationals is Rookie of the Month.
PLAYER OF THE MONTH | THOMAS CUSSON
The 2001 born Cowansville, QC native totaled a whopping 25 points (12G, 13A) in just 11 games of action. Cusson had eight multi-point performances, including two 4-point games as he rode an 11-game point-streak to begin his CCHL career with Hawkesbury after being acquired in early December prior to the latest league pause.
GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH | WILLIAM DESMARAIS
The 2001 born Sherbrooke, QC native totaled a record of 8-1-0-0, making 237 Saves, while sporting a 1.88 GAA and a .933 SV% helping the Ottawa Junior Senators solidify their position as the top ranked club in the CCHL. He had 30+ save efforts in Wins Vs the Kemptville 73’s, Rockland Nationals, and Renfrew Wolves on two occasions. On the season, Desmarais leads the CCHL in Wins with 19 while sitting 2nd in GAA (2.01) and SV% (.930).
ROOKIE OF THE MONTH | GABRIEL FILION
The 2004 born Montreal, QC native totaled 6 points (5G, 1A) in 9 games of action. His 5 goals led all rookie skaters in February. On the season, Filion sits fourth overall in rookie scoring with 16 points (10G, 6A) in 35 games of action.
