Point leads Carleton Place to shutout victory over Brockville

 

Colton Point was superb between the pipes for the Carleton Place Canadians, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Brockville Braves.

 

The win gave Carleton Place a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Canadians were led by Jacob Moreau, who tallied one goal. Moreau scored 7:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place.

Carleton Place excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Canadians kept Brockville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Henry Johnson made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Carleton Place also had goals scored by Geoff Kitt and Bryce VanHorn, who each put in one. More assists for Carleton Place came via Marcus Joseph, Alex Robinson, Brett Murray, and Jordan Larson, who contributed one each.

The Braves stifled Carleton Place's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Canadians' Point stopped 28 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Carleton Place incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Brockville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
