Pembroke outlasts Ottawa, 4-3

 

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Pembroke Lumber Kings escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brock Rumbaugh at 15:29 of the third period.

 

Pembroke was led by Rumbaugh, who registered one goal.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Ottawa power plays. Pembroke kept Ottawa's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Andriano made 30 saves on 34 shots.

Pembroke also had goals scored by Colton Keuhl, Jesse Blais, and Brett Horn, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Fraser Turner, Chris Minns, Ryan Casselman, Mitchell Culver, Nicolas Vlahos, Ben VanOoteghem, and Adam Beveridge, who contributed one each.

The Senators were led by Elie Boulerice, who had one goal and one assist. Boulerice scored 3:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke. Sean Rappleyea picked up the assist. Others who scored for Ottawa included Marc-Andre Gauvreau and Brett Van Stralen, who each put in one. More assists for Ottawa came via Alexandre Way, Greg Meireles, and Jim Pearson, who each chipped in one.

Sean Green made 25 saves for the Lumber Kings on 28 shots. Pembroke incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ottawa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
