Pembroke hangs on, beats Hawkesbury 3-1

 

Justin Felhaber scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Pembroke Lumber Kings held off the challenges of the Hawkesbury Hawks in a tough 3-1 win.

Felhaber provided Pembroke with the game-winning tally when he scored 16:16 into the first period. Connor Rankin assisted on the tally.

 

The Lumber Kings were paced by Nolan Redler, who had one goal. Redler scored 17:13 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Adam Dauda provided the assist.

Hawkesbury was unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Pembroke also got a goal from Ryan Casselman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Hudson Michaelis, Anthony Nellis, and Alexandre Boivin, who contributed one each.

The Hawks' offense operated below their season average. Hawkesbury puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

The Hawks were led by Hunter Racine, who scored the team's only goal. Racine scored 12:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke. Jonathan Cyr picked up the assist.

Joel Horodziejczyk made 21 saves for Pembroke on 22 shots. The Lumber Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Pembroke ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Rankin was ejected from the game. Gunner Rivers rejected 36 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
