Pembroke falls to Cornwall in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

 

Tristan Conrad gave the Cornwall Colts a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings when he scored 31 seconds into the extra period.

 

Cornwall nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Colts made it 2-0 on a power play goal by Andrew Ming at 1:25 in the third period. Pembroke got to within 2-1 on a goal by Brock Rumbaugh at 7:59 in the third period.

Cornwall was led by Conrad, who had one goal.

The Colts' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pembroke power plays.

Cornwall also got a goal from Shawn Baird as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Sebastian Dirven, who had one and Keegan Mulhearn and Matthew Morin, who contributed two each.

The Lumber Kings kept Cornwall's goalie busy throughout the game, and Liam Lascelle made 34 saves on 36 shots.

Pembroke was helped by Tyler ONeill, who racked up one goal. ONeill scored 15:41 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Patrick Kyte assisted on the tally. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Fraser Turner, Jesse Blais, and Nicolas Vlahos, who each chipped in one.

The Colts totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Cornwall, Ming was ejected from the game. The Lumber Kings' Gabe Mollot-Hill stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Pembroke ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. For the Lumber Kings, Wesley Ashley, Colton Keuhl, and Michael Miller were ejected from the contest.
